How to Turn on Power Wheels

You might wonder how to turn on the Power Wheels when you have finished assembling the new Power Wheels. The two most common options are the key switch or the push button switch, which you can find in the dashboard right beside the steering.

If the Power Wheels do not turn on after following the correct assembling process, the battery plug, the switch connectors or any wire may have been left loose. Tightening them will turn on the Power Wheels.

How to Turn on the Power Wheels

Turning on the Power Wheels is the easiest thing you can do if the Power Wheels does not have any power problems. The two most common turn-on switches found in the Power Wheels are key assembly switch and simple switch button. You can find these switches on the dashboard just beside the steering wheel.

  1. Key Assembly Switch

The assembly switch is similar to the traditional car switch; the only difference is that you have to twist the key switch and leave it, then Power Wheels and start paddling to run the Power Wheels.

These stock key switches are designed with a sound of self-start; every time you turn on the key switch, the self-start sound will confirm the Power Wheels is turned on. The other indicators may be the lights that turn on when you twist the switch.  To turn off, the Power Wheels twist the key in the reverse direction.

  1. Push Button Switch

A Push-button switch is a three-pin socket button; you have to press in once to turn on the Power Wheels and start paddling. Sometimes these switches also come with the sound effect of self-start and other sounds. To turn off the Power Wheels, you have to push the button once again.

What if Power Wheels Does Not Turn On?

If the Power Wheels do not turn on, that means there must be some problem with the power system. You must follow all the steps described in the manual when assembling the Power Wheels. Let’s see the possible cause if the Power Wheels does not turn

  • If you have just assembled the new Power Wheels by following the manual, it does not turn on. Check the battery if it is connected to the Power Wheels. Sometimes the battery plug is left loose and the power is not provided to the car. Fix the plug and turn on the Power Wheels.

  • If the battery is connected to the Power Wheels, check the connectors of the Power switch; you may find a loose one; tightening the loose connectors will turn on the Power Wheels. The connectors are right under the switch; you can use a flathead screwdriver to pull out the switch and tighten any loose connector.

  • Any loose wire in between the switch and battery will also stop the Power Wheels from turning on. You have to repair or tighten the wires.

Conclusion

Sometimes you might wonder how to turn on the Power Wheels when you have finished assembling the new Power Wheels (see also our article on trampoline assembly and disassembly). Different models of Power Wheels have different options for starting the vehicle. The most common options are the key start, similar to the real cars, which even create the sound of self-start. The other is a push-button switch. Just push the button, and the Power Wheel turns on.

If you have just assembled your power wheels by following the manual and it does not turn on, the battery plug, the switch connectors, or any wires connecting the battery and switch may have been left loose. Tight any loose plug, connector or wire, and again try to turn on the Power Wheels.
